The only original version of this game I have seen was in Belgium
hanging on the wall of the well-known Sax family of
balloonists.
I imagine the game was printed on traditional card and players
would use dice and counters in much the same way as today's games.
This image is of an original print/engraving which is held in a museum
in Paris.

The late Royston
Cooper used
an image
of the game for a
publication in the 1970's to
advertise
Paterson's
Buttamunchy biscuits
He
painted numerous balloon
scenes
from the 18th century
so cards
could be inserted into
the album.
